Applications Engineer

Tekscan is currently seeking a highly technical Application Engineer to join our team. They will work with mechanical, software and electrical engineering teams, validating the components of our instrumentation systems. Additionally, this role will interface with Tekscan customers to provide expert technical support in both presale and post-sale situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate technical problems, reproduce issues as required, and interface with technology teams to drive customer issues to closure, in a timely manner with a positive outcome.
  • Perform validation testing of new technologies for product launch
  • Provide ongoing technical support and case management daily through phone, email, and other forms of communication to customers.
  • Act as expert consultant to guide customers in planning and development of technical solutions.
  • Work with Product Sales, Business Development, and Product Distributors to develop customer strategies and implement those strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records in the quality management and customer relationship management tools (CRM)
  • Prepare documentation and maintain knowledge data base of technical tips and technical resolution outcomes.
  • Occasionally, travel to customer sites or meet after hours to troubleshoot technical issues

Skills:

  • Proficiency with instrumentation and data acquisition
  • Script programing in MATLAB, Python
  • Experience with LabVIEW
  • Self-motivated and customer focused
  • Build consensus with cross organizational teams to create timely solutions for customers
  • Seek and synthesize Voice of Customer insights to drive product requirements or enhancements
  • Hands-on approach to field investigation to fully understand product use issues and cases
  • Inquisitive, analytical, proactive, and engaging

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
  • 2 years experience with mechatronic systems
  • 2 years experience configuring, troubleshooting technical systems and applications
