Tekscan Has Plenty to Keep You Busy at BIOMEDevice Boston
We’re just about a week away from the MD&M BIOMEDevice tradeshow, which is taking place right in our backyard at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center from May 3-4, 2017. Here's what you can expect from Tekscan over the two-day event:
“Force Sensors Drive the Sense of Touch in IoT” Tech Theater Presentation
Date: Wednesday, May 3 (2:30 – 3:15 pm)
Location: Booth 157
The Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) represent a growing wave of change, in turn posing several new challenges to design engineers of the world's smart products and devices. Devices are getting more compact, they need to have a longer life, they need to respond appropriately to change in their environment, and they need to be affordable. Companies that invest in ways to embed sensing technology today will be the leaders in this monumental technological shift.
Mark Lowe – Tekscan’s Vice President of Sensors – will present the technology behind FlexiForce sensors and the features that make them the ideal embedded force sensing options for optimization in smart, connected device.
Admission is free with your Expo pass.
BIOMEDevice Innovation Tour
Date: Wednesday, May 3 (3:15 – 4:15 pm)
Location: Information Booth
The Tekscan booth will be one of the stops during the BIOMEDevice Sensor Technologies tour. Dave Shepard – Vice President of Sales for Tekscan’s FlexiForce and Pressure Mapping product lines – will provide a personalized overview of Tekscan’s capabilities to help design engineers embed force sensing capabilities into products and devices.
The tour is open to Conference Delegates.
Test Your Surgical Skills on Our New Medical Device Demo
Date: Available All Show
Location: Booth 1020 (the Tekscan Booth)
Experience first-hand how FlexiForce sensors can help make surgical procedures smarter by providing objective, quantifiable tactile force feedback. Attendees can test their skills by using a surgical gripper embedded with FlexiForce sensors to perform specific tasks within in a specified force range. The individual’s score will be calculated based on the speed and accuracy of the applied force the user maintains as they complete the tasks. The lower the score, the better!
The contestant with the lowest score at the end of the two-day event will receive a free OEM Development Kit, valued at $350.00.
We’ll be available at Booth 1020 throughout the show.
