Tekscan Adds New Small Sensor to FlexiForce Standard Product Line

Tekscan has announced the release of their latest sensor offering - the FlexiForce™ A101 force sensor. This latest addition to the standard force sensor line is their smallest standard sensor yet and is available for sale at their online store. It was created with the OEM design engineer in mind, for applications where size and cost are considerations.

New Sensor Enhances Standard Offering

This new sensor compliments the existing FlexiForce product line of standard sensors. Currently there are six standard sensor options, each with size and/or pressure sensitive ink technology variations. These characteristics lend them to be utilized in a wide range of designs depending on factors such as temperature, humidity, amount of force or pressure being applied, and product size. With an active sensing area of 3.8 mm (.15 in.), this new sensor has a standard force of 18 N (4 lbs.) and is ideal for design engineers with OEM applications who want an off-the-shelf, small force sensor solution.

Ideal for Small, Portable Devices

Mark Lowe, V.P. of Sensor Business said, "Our new small sensor will give OEM design engineers the ability to incorporate force sensing technology into their devices to create innovative and differentiated products without compromising size or accruing the cost that is associated with custom force sensors.  Our new A101 sensor is ideal for a range of small, portable devices from medical to consumer. We already have customers working on proof of concept designs with this new sensor for drug delivery, orthopedic, and consumer devices."
