The Top 3 Tablets for Operating your I-Scan Pressure Mapping System
As you may recall from an earlier post, running I-Scan Evolution software from a Windows® tablet can provide a lot of flexibility in data collection. This includes giving users greater freedom to use their I-Scan pressure mapping systems for remote data collection in complex or potentially hazardous testing areas.
Since introducing this feature, we’ve received quite a few inquiries from customers seeking our recommendation for the best tablet to use with I-Scan. There are truly two technical requirements to operate I-Scan on a tablet:
- Your tablet must operate on a Windows 7 or 10 operating system, and
- Your tablet must include at least one USB A 2.0 connection.
Given the multitude of tablet options that are on the market today, your best choice may come down to your testing environment. Therefore, here are a few options we recommend:
Option 1: Microsoft® Surface Pro (www.microsoft.com)
The Windows Surface Pro provides a lot of features customary with Windows products.
|
Option 2: Panasonic® Toughpad® FZ-G1 (www.panasonic.com)
Ruggedized, compact tablet with a protective cover.
|
Option 3: Ockel Sirius A Pocket PC (www.ockelcomputers.com)
Extremely compact pocket-sized computer that features 2 USB ports, allowing for two-handle Evolution systems.
